TITLEIST SETS STANDARD AS THE OVERWHELMING TEE-TO-GREEN EQUIPMENT CHOICE AT 2008 U.S. JUNIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP.

Fairhaven, MA (July 30, 2008) - Titleist has long been recognized for its golf ball usage and success across the worldwide professional tours, with club professionals and at every level of competitive golf.  As the country’s top junior boy golfers gathered last week at Shoal Creek in Alabama for their national championship, an overwhelming 131 of the 156 players, more than 84 percent of the field, relied upon Titleist golf balls.  The nearest competitor had 11 players.  In addition to its golf ball success, Titleist also was the top choice across every major equipment category, including drivers (72), fairway metals (129), utility metals (41), iron sets (71), sand, lob and approach wedges (237) and putters (84).

Further, at the recently completed U.S. Girls’ Junior played at the Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford, Conn., the Titleist golf ball count was even better with over 88 percent of the field relying upon the #1 ball in golf, for the toughest test in junior golf.  Titleist topped the golf ball category with 138 players, which were 130 more than the nearest competitor with 8.  Titleist also was the putter choice of more players than any other competitor, with 61 trusting a Scotty Cameron model on the greens.

At the Girls’ Junior, the scheduled 36-hole all-Titleist golf ball final came down to a pair of impressive 13-year olds, with the champion posting a 5 and 4 victory.  The long-hitting winner relied upon the Pro V1x, while the runner-up opted for the Pro V1.  Both players used Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters for their success.

The success across all equipment categories and by the players who trust it, is continued proof that when endorsement money is taken out of the game, Titleist is an even greater favorite of the future of competitive golf and serious golfers everywhere.  Below are the equipment counts from the 2008 U.S. Junior Amateur and golf ball count from the U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur:
