Padraig Harrington Captures Second Straight Major Championship with Titleist Pro V1x Golf Ball.

Fairhaven, MA (August 11, 2008) - With steely focus and unwavering belief in his ability and himself, Padraig Harrington captured the 90th PGA Championship for his second consecutive major title and his third in the last six.  Harrington posted consecutive 4-under par 66's on the weekend at Oakland Hills, for a dramatic come-from-behind two-shot win over two players, including fellow Pro V1x loyalist and Titleist brand ambassador Ben Curtis.

Padraig Harrington

Making a truly historic mark, Harrington became the first Irishman to win the PGA Championship, the first European player to capture the PGA Championship since 1930, and the first European player in history to win back to back majors.  Harrington, who shot a 32 over the final nine holes, just as he did to win the British Open at Royal Birkdale last month, finished at 3-under 277.  He took the lead with a 10-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th, and secured the victory with a 15-foot par on the last hole.

What’s in Ben Curtis' Titleist Bag?: Pro V1x golf ball, 907D2 driver (8.5), new 909 fairway metal (13.5), 585.H utility metals (17.0, 21.0), AP2 irons (4-P), Vokey Design approach (52) and TVD lob wedge (60), Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 putter.

Curtis' second-place tie moved him up to No. 7 in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings and earned him a position on this year's team.  Curtis, who didn't even get a chance to tee it up on Saturday when play was suspended due to weather, shot 68 in Sunday morning's third round to own the 54-hole lead at 2-under 208.

#1 Ball at the PGA Championship: Titleist was the most played golf ball at The PGA Championship with 93 players, compared to 24 for the nearest competitor.  Harrington's victory is the 20th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2008 PGA TOUR, twice the nearest competitor.  Additional victories on the Nationwide and Asian Tours advanced the Titleist golf ball win count across the worldwide professional tours to 110, more than four times the nearest competitor with 25.

Top Choice, Tee-to-Green: Titleist was also the top choice of players at the PGA Championship in the iron (39), wedge (139) and putter (58) categories.  Titleist was second in drivers (35), 16 of which were new 909 models.
