Captures Crowne Plaza Invitational in Three-Way Playoff Trusting Pro V1 Golf Ball, Titleist Equipment

Fairhaven, MA (June 1, 2009) - One shot can be the difference it takes to win. A determined Steve Stricker proved just that, making every shot count in his dramatic three-way, sudden death playoff victory at the Crowne Plaza Invitational. The Titleist Brand Ambassador’s strong finish matched his strong start, as he posted consecutive 63’s to set the 36-hole record at Colonial. Stricker relied upon his Pro V1 and bag of Titleist equipment for his fifth career win, all while trusting Titleist for his success.

- Stricker topped the other two playoff participants, including Titleist Pro V1x golf ball loyalist Steve Marino, with a birdie on the second playoff hole (the 17th). It marked the fourth time Stricker had birdied Colonial's par-4 17th hole in five attempts for the week. All three players finished regulation at 17-under 263.

ANOTHER TOP 10 FINISH … A TOP 10 WORLD RANKING: Stricker enters the Winner’s Circle after posting 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th-place finishes already this year. His six Top 10 finishes ranks him T1 in the category with three other players, including fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Kevin Na and Titleist golf ball loyalist Kenny Perry. He also vaults to World No. 8.

GETTING THE (FEDEX) POINTS: Stricker moves into No. 2 in the FedEx Cup Standings, just behind fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Zach Johnson. They are joined in the Top 10 with another Titleist Brand Ambassador, Nick Watney (No. 7).
