Mahan and Fowler Finish 1-2 at Phoenix Open playing Titleist Pro V1x

Fairhaven, MA (March 1, 2010) - To achieve success at the highest level of the game takes patience, consistency, talent and an unwavering belief in your golf ball. Pro V1x loyalist Hunter Mahan displayed all of these attributes en route to a one-shot win at the Phoenix Open, closing with consecutive 6-under 65s to capture his second career PGA Tour title. Mahan made an eagle and two birdies on the back nine to finish with the clubhouse lead at 16-under 268.  Brand Ambassador Rickie Fowler made it a Titleist 1-2 finish, as the 21-year old young gun posted his fourth top ten finish in just nine PGA Tour starts.  With another victory on the Nationwide Tour this week, Titleist advanced its 2010 win count across the worldwide professional tours to 21, seven times the nearest competitor with 3.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING MARCH 1, 2010

What’s in Rickie Fowler’s Bag?: Pro V1x, 909D2 driver (7.5), 909F2 3-wood (13.5), New MB irons (4-9), Vokey Design Spin Milled pitching (48), sand (54) and lob (59) wedges, Scotty Cameron Circa 62 putter.

Titleist Momentum:  The momentum continues for players trusting the #1 ball in golf, as Mahan's victory marks the seventh win by a Titleist golf ball loyalist through the first nine events on the 2010 PGA Tour.  The champion also played a Vokey Design Spin Milled sand wedge (54) for his success.

Long Ball: Titleist Brand Ambassador Nick Watney led the Phoenix Open field in Driving Distance with a 312.6 average.  Watney plays the Pro V1x golf ball and 909D2 (10.5) combination for his success.

Survey Says:  According to Darrell Survey, Titleist was the golf ball of choice at the Phoenix Open with 89 players, more than four times the nearest competitor with 21.  Titleist was also first in iron sets with 39 players (27%); sand, lob and approach wedges with 117 (37%); and putters with 48 (33%) in play.  Titleist was also second in the driver category with 34.

NATIONWIDE: Fran Quinn (Pro V1x, Scotty Cameron Newport Square putter) closed with a one-over 71 to win the Panama Championship by two shots.  Quinn, who picked up his fourth Nationwide Tour title, finished at 15-under 265.  He set the 54-hole scoring record on Saturday following an 8-under 62 in the third round, and then broke the 72-hole scoring mark by four shots.

#1 BALL, WEDGE, PUTTER: According to the Darrell Survey, Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the event with 84 players, more than four times the nearest competitor with 19.  Titleist was also first in sand, lob and approach wedges with 52 (38%) and putters with 51 (37%).  Titleist was second in drivers with 30 and iron sets with 31.
