MATA FIRES FIFTH CAREER ACE, POSTS 69 AT SHADOWRIDGE GC
Carlsbad, CA (January 25, 2004) – Steve Mata, Vice President of Tour Relations for Titleist, fired the fifth hole-in-one of his illustrious amateur career on the 216-yard 15th hole at the at Shadowridge Golf Club in Vista, Calif. Mata relied upon a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and Titleist Forged 690CB iron to achieve the feat.
Mata posted a memorable ace, birdie, eagle, par finish to finish with a 3-under par 69 for the round. His full arsenal of Titleist equipment included a Titleist Titanium 983K driver, 980F Strong fairway metal, 690CB irons, Vokey Design pitching, sand and lob wedges and a Scotty Cameron by Titleist putter.
Mata’s playing partners included Harry Little, Dave Sixt, Dan Bellock and Daisuke Mikame.
