Debuts on The Golf Channel, April 5th

Greg Rose and Dave Phillips

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (April 2, 2004) – Golfers seeking to enhance their performance through golf fitness now have another source for help. A new 10-episode series entitled Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist will debut on The Golf Channel on Monday, April 5th at 9:25 pm (EST). This groundbreaking half-hour show takes a unique, hands-on approach to golf fitness and is hosted by Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips, cofounders of the Titleist Performance Institute. The pair combines exercise and golf-specific motor learning drills that directly relate to producing a more efficient swing.

“A key component to any player’s performance optimization is conditioning,” said Dr. Rose. “Physical factors such as strength, flexibility, endurance, stability and posture all influence swing mechanics. Too often, players develop a fitness regimen that is not directly related to their golf swing. All of our exercises and diagnostics for physical limitations are geared towards helping The Golf Channel viewers reach their potential.”

Filmed at the state-of-the-art Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, California, programming content ranges from golf-specific conditioning exercises which strengthen upper body, lower body, flexibility and endurance to testing for physical limitations that hinder a player’s swing. The shows also recommend exercises which specifically address these physical restrictions.

“Players aspiring to improve their performance will benefit by watching Golf Fitness Academy,” said Phillips. “We are applying what we have learned by analyzing and working with some of the best players in the world.”
