The Test Scores Are In: Titleist Is Once Again the #1 Ball at the Men's and Women's NCAA Championships.

Fairhaven, MA (June 7, 2005) – There are no shortcuts to realizing one’s dreams. This holds true in the world of academia and in the world of competitive golf. The young men and women at the NCAA Championships know that every decision they make can have a direct effect on the outcome of a match. So it says a great deal when deciding which golf ball to play at the 2005 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships, the most important on-course test of the year for the nation’s best and brightest collegiate golfers, the overwhelming majority place their trust in the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

At the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, 141 players in the field of 156 relied upon Titleist golf balls, an overwhelming14 times more than the nearest competitor with 10.

Titleist also was the leading choice of more players than any other brand across every major golf club category including drivers (65), iron sets (56), utility irons (23), wedges (135) and putters (62).

In fact, the individual champion relied upon the new Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, Titleist Titanium 905T driver, Pro Trajectory 904F 5- and 7-woods, Titleist Forged 680 irons, and Vokey Design sand and lob wedges.

It was more of the same at the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, where 111 of the 126 players relied upon Titleist golf balls, over 13 times as many players as the nearest competitor with 8. More players also relied upon Titleist drivers than any other competitor with 40. The individual women's champion relied upon the new Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and a full bag of 14 Titleist golf clubs.
