Titleist. The #1 Ball Played at the U.S. Open for the 58th Consecutive Year

The longest running success story in golf continued at the 2006 U.S. Open Championship, where for the 58th consecutive year, the superior performance and quality of Titleist golf balls were the choice of more players than any other. At Winged Foot , where the most accomplished field of professional and amateur golfers worldwide gathered to compete for one of the game's most prestigious titles, an overwhelming number of players relied upon Titleist, the #1 ball in golf.

In the 156-player U.S. Open field, 101 players, or 65 percent, chose the Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls, more than four times the nearest competitor with 21.

As the second major of the year gets underway, Titleist continues to outperform all other golf balls on the 2006 PGA Tour with 12 wins year-to-date, twice the nearest competitor. Across the worldwide professional tours, Titleist has been the choice of 72 champions, more than five times the nearest competitor with 13.

The momentum of the Titleist golf club franchise continues to grow as well. At the U.S. Open, more players are trusting Titleist Forged irons (32), Vokey Design wedges (112) and Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters (54) than any other brand in their respective categories. Titleist Pro Titanium drivers are a strong second in the driver category with 33 players.

Year in and year out, the U.S. Open reaffirms the fact that from tee to green, more of the world's best players rely upon the superior performance and consistency of Titleist. Golf's Symbol of Excellence.
