Titleist #1 at The Tour Championship

Adam Scott, Titleist golf clubs score big wins at season-ending Tour event

As the 2006 PGA Tour schedule concluded at The Tour Championship presented by Coca-Cola, the Titleist tradition of success continued among the top players on Tour.

Led by Adam Scott, winner of this year's Tour Championship and the fourth-ranked player in the Official World Golf Ranking, nine Titleist brand ambassadors finished among the top 30 money leaders on the PGA Tour to qualify for the event. Other Titleist brand ambassadors who joined Scott in Atlanta were Davis Love III, Brett Quigley, Lucas Glover, Arron Oberholser, Zach Johnson, Ernie Els, Ben Curtis, and Tom Pernice, Jr.

Largely through the leadership of Titleist brand ambassadors, Titleist golf clubs were the number one brand in every major equipment category at The Tour Championship. Titleist drivers, including the Pro Titanium 905R, the number one 460cc driver on the 2006 PGA Tour, were played by 11 of the 27 players in the field. Titleist fairways, led by the new PT906F, represented 27% of the fairways in play for the week. Titleist irons were in the bags of the nine Titleist brand ambassadors, including two sets of the new 755 irons. Titleist Vokey Design wedges and Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters were also in abundant supply in the wedge and putter categories, with respective category shares of 41% and 44%.

Titleist golf clubs also enjoyed tremendous success related to overall Tour usage in 2006. For the year, Titleist finished in the top spot in the iron, wedge, and putter categories with respective category shares of 22%, 37%, and 37%.
