The 40th PGA Professional National Championship, the showcase event for PGA Professionals, will be contested June 21-24, at Sunriver (Ore.) Resort. The road to the National Championship goes through the 41 PGA Professional Section Championships, which form the bulk of the 312-player final field.
"Acushnet Company is pleased and proud to continue its association with the 41 Section Professional Championships and the National Professional Championship," said Peter Broome, Vice President, Business Development and Partnerships, Acushnet Company. "This is a natural extension of our PGA Professional support philosophy which is a cornerstone of our business. In our nine years of sponsorship, the event has become preeminent at the Section level and allows us to reach virtually all of our PGA Partners.”
Acushnet Company's sponsorship of the showcase event for PGA Professionals began in 1997, when the National Championship was a 156-player field at Pinehurst, N.C.
“In this period of time, the National Championship has evolved to be the major championship for PGA Professionals, which showcases the many great players from around the country,” said Broome. “We look forward to another four years of working with the 41 Sections and the National Headquarters to make this the most important event on a PGA Professional's calendar."
Acushnet Company, a PGA of America Platinum sponsor, also supports a scholarship program for PGA apprentices working through the PGA Professional Golf Management program, serves as an Exclusive Product Supplier to PGA Golf Properties, is a Product Demonstration Partner at the PGA Learning Center, and is a national merchandise licensee.
