Improve Your Golf Posture and Balance with the LPGA’s Minea Blomqvist on the Next ''Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist''

Fairhaven, MA (May 28, 2007) – Minea Blomqvist, the first and only professional golfer on the LPGA Tour from Finland, joins co-hosts Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips on the next new episode of Golf Fitness Academy to demonstrate her total body workout that specifically targets the core to help improve balance and posture in the golf swing.

Minea, with the help of her trainer Tepa Beilinson and Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson, co-founders of Vision54, discovered she had a habit of getting “steep,” or coming over the top, in the golf swing which is often due to weakness in the core muscles. After progressing through a total body warm-up routine, they demonstrate Minea’s program, which includes a unique Scandinavian twist, to tighten the core muscles and improve posture and balance while also loosening the muscles in the lower back. The episode also features six quick Performance Tips, including a test to determine how much tension exists in your golf swing, how to correct bad posture, and the three most important supplements for golfers.

Episode 7: Minea Blomqvist airs Wednesday, May 30, at 10:30 p.m. EDT.  It will re-air May 31 at 2 a.m., June 4 at 6:30 p.m., June 5 at 5:30 a.m., and June 17 at 1:30 p.m.

During this season’s “Player Series,” Rose and Phillips, cofounders of the Titleist Performance Institute, offer tips that directly relate to producing a better all-around golf game.  They address a range of topics with the help of players from the PGA and LPGA Tours including Charley Hoffman, Brett Quigley, Troy Matteson, Brad Faxon, Minea Blomqvist, Charles Warren, Jonathan Byrd and Laura Diaz, as well as Villegas and Masters Champion Zach Johnson, who was on the series premiere.  Special guests from the golf and fitness communities also provide valuable information for golfers of all abilities. The Golf Fitness Academy sessions were filmed at the state-of-the-art Spa & Fitness Facility at the Sea Island Resort in Sea Island, Georgia, and the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, California.

“This year on Golf Fitness Academy we’re going to offer unprecedented access to workout secrets from some of the best players on the PGA and LPGA Tour,” said Rose.  “Whether the viewer is seeking to increase strength, stability and mobility, or prevent injuries, this year’s Player Series has something for all avid golfers looking to improve their on-course performance and enjoyment through enhanced conditioning.”
