The PGA Tour’s first major championship of the season is underway and Titleist golf ball players are leading the way.  Despite excellent scoring conditions on Thursday, Augusta National proved to be as challenging as ever, surrendering only four sub-70 scores in the opening round.  The common thread?  These four players all trusted a Titleist golf ball.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Bill Haas trusted his Pro V1x golf ball to seize the overnight lead with a stellar 4-under 68.  He was followed by Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott, who relied on his Pro V1 golf ball to fire a 3-under 69 in his opening round as defending champion.  Adam was joined at 3-under by 2012 Masters Champion Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen, both of whom relied on a TItleist Pro V1x golf ball.

This week, Titleist is the once again #1 ball at the Masters with more players placing their trust in a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball than all other competitors combined.

The second round is now underway as players have refocused on the first order of business at Augusta - surviving the cut.

As they do, check out the gallery above to view some images from earlier this week as Titleist Brand Ambassadors and golf ball loyalists prepared for their bids to earn the green jacket.

Good luck to all the players this weekend!

Video: Welcome to The 2014 Masters

After what has seemed like an endless winter, we finally welcome one of the surest signs that spring is here - it’s Masters week.

An elite field of international golfers has assembled at Augusta National to kick-off the PGA Tour's major season. And once again, Titleist is the #1 ball at the Masters with more players placing their trust in a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball than all other competitors combined.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures nearing 80°F throughout the weekend, so we can expect the firm and fast conditions that display Augusta National at its challenging best.

Watch the video above to see what Titleist Brand Ambassadors and golf ball loyalists including defending champion Adam Scott, past Masters Champions Bubba Watson (2012) and Zach Johnson (2007) along with Webb Simpson, Jason Dufner, Louis Oosthuizen, Bill Haas, Henrik Stenson, Luke Donald, and Lee Westwood had to say about playing Augusta National and facing their first major test of the season.

Good luck to all the players this week.

Welcome to the Masters.

As players make their final preparations at the 2014 Masters, there's a good chance that a majority of their practice time will be spent on and around the greens at Augusta National.

More often than not, the green jacket will be won by the player who performs best on these beautiful yet challenging surfaces.  So we decided to go straight to the source for some keys to successful putting…

Master craftsman Scotty Cameron, a man who has worked closely with a number of Masters champions, sat down with Team Titleist and shared some of his thoughts on how to navigate the greens this week.

And as Scotty told us, players will have to do their homework to understand how different putting really is at Augusta National. Another key according to Scotty...

“Finding a putter you know and you trust and have a relationship with."

Check out the video above to hear what else Scotty has to say and see how his advice might help you with your own putting game.
