Tips From the Tour: Adam Scott on Longer Drives

Seeing a tee shot launch perfectly into the sky and soar down the fairway is something that all golfers love to see - especially if they're admiring their own drive. And if you can squeeze out a few more yards off the tee, well, we're guessing that would just about always be a welcome bonus.

So how do we make this happen? Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott recently checked in with Team Titleist to share a few keys on how to add a little extra distance off the tee.

Key #1: Tee the ball slightly higher than usual. This simple adjustment produces a higher launch angle and less spin, a great combination for soaring drives.

Key #2: Focus on a full finish. This key will keep you in balance and give you a much better chance of making contact with the sweetspot of the driver.

So remember... a balanced swing combined with solid, center-of-the-face contact is going to give you better distance potential than swinging out of your shoes.

Give these keys a try and you'll be on your way to achieving power through control. Here’s to going long!

At #12 on our list of the top moments of 2014 is the story of Titleist Pro V1 Loyalist Mo Martin and her victory at the Ricoh Women's British Open.

Check out the original post from July 14, 2014.

Pro V1 Loyalist Mo Martin Wins First Major at Ricoh Women's British Open

After waiting and watching the final groups come in for more than hour at the RICOH Women’s British Open, Titleist Pro V1 loyalist Mo Martin was finally able to let her accomplishment start to sink in as the newly crowned champion sat down for the post round interview.

“This is just unbelievable. It’s literally a dream come true.”

It was certainly a day to remember for Martin as she battled the windy conditions at Royal Birkdale to earn her first career LPGA victory and major title.

Martin was the only player to finish the tournament under par and she capped off her final round with a dramatic eagle on the 18th hole to take the clubhouse lead with a 1-under-par 287 total.

Faced with a long approach shot and a howling wind, Martin sent her Pro V1 golf ball soaring toward the green and watched as the shot of the day unfolded.

“The wind was coming pretty strong, so I aimed it very far left and hit it full. Held it up a little bit against the wind and when it was rolling on the ground I said sit and then I said go. It looked perfect, so I didn’t have anything more to say and then it hit the pin,” recounted Martin.

She then rolled in a six-foot eagle putt that proved to be the difference maker as her name remained atop the leaderboard.

Congratulations, Mo!

Our countdown continues as we look back at our 14 favorite moments from 2014.

Next on the list, we revisit the Titleist 915 Driver Tour launch documentary. Check out the original post from October 21, 2014 below...

Behind the Scenes of the New Titleist 915 Driver Tour Launch

The development path for the new Titleist 915 family of metals started in Carlsbad, Ca. where our team of golf club experts spent countless hours, days and months conceptualizing, prototyping and refining new ways to deliver distance without compromise for all serious golfers.

And before any Titleist golf club is introduced to the market, it has to pass a critical checkpoint – the player validation process on the PGA Tour.

“If you want to make the best product in the world, you’ve got to prove yourself with the best players in the world,” said Chris McGinley, vice president of Titleist golf club marketing.

Earlier this year we hopped on the Titleist Tour Support Van to join the team as they made the final drive to Congressional Country Club for the start of the new 915D2 and 915D3 tour seeding and player validation process. As the initial excitement for this introduction continued to build from a whisper to a roar on tour, we knew we had to go along for the ride.

Now we’re bringing this experience to you with this insider’s view of the tour launch.

Enjoy!
