Our friends at Team Titleist South East Asia recently caught up with Australian Titleist Brand Ambassador Marcus Both at the Worldwide Holdings Selengor Masters.  As well as being a world class golfer, Marcus is also a bit of a club junkie, and could talk for hours about his equipment. On top of taking us through his bag, Marcus also lets us know how he got into the game of golf, what his future ambitions are as well as some great practice tips for young aspiring pro's out there.  We know that Marcus has a great following of fans here in Australia and we hope you enjoy the video put together by our Team in South East Asia.

When Titleist Brand Ambassador Webb Simpson dropped his Pro V1x golf ball in for birdie on the second playoff hole Monday evening to win the Deutsche Bank Championship, several noteworthy achievements followed. He moved to No. 1 in the FedEx Cup Playoff Standings, No. 1 on the PGA Tour money list and 14th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

There was one more: Webb also became the first Titleist Brand Ambassador to find the winner's circle sporting the new Prototype Titleist Tour Bag, which made their debut this week on the PGA Tour.

The bags were delivered to Webb and several other players by Team Titleist Wednesday morning on the range at TPC Boston.

 Just like all Titleist golf balls and equipment, the new Prototype Tour Bags go through a seeding and tour validation process before they are released to the market.

The feedback we receive during this process influences the design and specifications of the Titleist products available in golf shops around the world.

Last Wednesday at the Deutsche Bank, several Titleist Brand Ambassadors (Adam Scott, Nick Watney and Steve Stricker, to name a few) and their caddies could be seen on the range throughout the morning switching over to their new bags, many of them taking advantage of the changeover to do a little FedEx Cup cleaning and throw away things like empty water bottles and sunscreen tubes and dried-out Sharpies.

Webb's old bag was on its way to back to the locker room when his caddie realized that they had accidentally left his lucky coin in one of the bag's pockets. It was quickly recovered.

After changing over to the new bag, Titleist Brand Ambassador Scott Stallings placed his old one in the cardboard box, grabbed one of his new Prototype Vokey Design SM4 wedges and took his place on the driving range.

He hit his first warm-up shot, hesitated for a couple seconds, then walked back toward the cardboard box. He pulled out his old bag and reached into one of the top pockets.

In his hand: A Titleist Pro V1x, the one that he used to make the winning birdie in his playoff-victory earlier this year at the Greenbrier Classic.

"Can't forget this," he said.

Also in one of the pockets in Scott's new bag: A baseball he caught off the bat of Boston Red Sox centefielder Jacoby Ellsbury the night before at Fenway Park while attending the Red Sox-Yankees game.

Solidifying his position as one of the most consistent and clutch performers on the PGA Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Webb Simpson rolled in his Pro V1x golf ball in for three consecutive birdies Monday afternoon at TPC Boston to close out a fist-pumping playoff-victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Trusting a Pro V1x golf ball and bag full of Titleist equipment, Simpson charged to the winner's circle for the second time in just 16 days, highlighting another season of dominance for Titleist on the 2011 PGA Tour.

Titleist golf ball players have won 27 of the 37 PGA Tour events played so far this season, nine times the nearest competitor with three and more than all competitors combined.

 Simpson’s win increases the Titleist victory count on the PGA Tour across every major equipment category, including golf balls (27), drivers (15), irons (15) and wedges (19). Titleist is also the top choice among champions in the putter category with 16.

Simpson, who earned his first-career victory Aug. 21 at the Wyndham Championship, is also one of 12 Titleist Brand Ambassadors that have combined to win 15 PGA Tour events this season, including: Steve Stricker (2), Nick Watney (2), Adam Scott, Scott Piercy, Johnson Wagner, Gary Woodland, Brendan Steele, Harrison Frazar, Rory McIlroy, Chris Kirk and Scott Stallings.

On Labor Day, Simpson's efforts included a final-round 6-under 65 that featured a front-nine 30 as well as a 30-footer for birdie on TPC Boston's par-5 18th to get into a playoff with fellow Pro V1x golf ball player Chez Reavie.

On the first playoff hole, Simpson got up-and-down from a tough lie on the left side of the 18th green, rolling his Pro V1x golf ball in from 15 feet for birdie.

Next, at the par-4 17th, Simpson hit his Vokey Design Spin Milled TVD wedge to 8 feet and sank the birdie putt to capture a victory that could make him one of the game's household names.

 Simpson, 26, moved to No. 1 in the FedEx Cup Playoffs Standings, jumped to 14th in the Official World Golf Ranking and assured himself a spot on the U.S. Presidents Cup team that will compete later this year in Australia.

"It's been a whirlwind of a few weeks. …," said Simpson, sporting the same light-purple shirt he wore during the final round at Wyndham.

"I don't really know what to think right now, but I'm certainly thankful for the chance to win and having been able to finish the round with a birdie, and then birdie the first two holes in a playoff was truly awesome."

Simpson has recorded nine top-10 finishes and 17 top-25's in 2011. He is No. 1 in the PGA Tour's All-Around statistical ranking, third in scoring average (69.30) and fourth in final-round scoring average (69.00).

At Wyndham, Simpson's final round featured three birdies and zero bogeys. Monday At Deutsche Bank, he made five birdies, one eagle and one bogey.

"The goal that I set out to accomplish is to be one of the best players in the world, if not the best," he said. "But you know, I don't set result-oriented goals for myself. I just try to get up every day and do the most I can to improve my game."

Both Simpson and Reavie finished the four rounds at TPC Boston at 15-under 269, two shots ahead of three players including Pro V1x loyalist Luke Donald.

Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at The Deutsche Bank Championship with 62 players, nearly five times the nearest competitor with 13.

Titleist also was first in iron sets (34);  sand, lob and approach wedges (96); and putters (39).

• CHINA PGA TOUR: Pro V1x loyalist Rory Hie birdied his final three holes to post a final-round 7-under 65 and cruise to victory at the Tangshan China PGA Tour event.

Hie, 23, finished at 15-under 273, seven shots clear of the field. It was his sixth-career win as a professional.

Nine of the top 10 finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success, including Titleist Brand Ambassadors C.J. Gatto and Eom Jae Woong, who tied for third.

Titleist golf ball loyalists accounted for more than 83 percent of the field with 104 of 125 players, eight times more than the nearest competitor with 13.

Titleist also was first in fairway metals (52), hybrids (53), iron sets (42), sand, lob and approach wedges (149) and putters (44).

EUROPEAN TOUR: Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the Omega European Masters with 91 players, more than four times the nearest competitor with 22 and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy, playing for the first time since he hurt his arm at the PGA Championship, shot a final round 3-under 68 to tie for third.

NATIONWIDE TOUR: Titleist was the No. 1 golf ball of choice at the Mylan Classic with 106 players, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 15 and more than all competitors combined. Titleist also was first in iron sets (42); sand, lob and approach wedges (139); and putters (68).

JAPAN TOUR: Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the Fujisankei Classic with 56 players. Titleist also was first in hybrids (35); and sand, lob and approach wedges (116).

SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR: Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the Telkom PGA Pro-Am with 48 players, more than two times the nearest competitor.

September 6, 2011 –  Titleist Brand Ambassador Webb Simpson closed with three consecutive birdies to capture the Deutsche Bank Championship on the second hole of a sudden death playoff with Chez Reavie.  While the champion may have been in doubt when both players returned to the 18th hole for the start of the playoff, the winning golf ball was not.
