EUROPEAN TOUR: 70° Open d'Italia Lindt
Julien Quesne (Pro V1x) began the final day at Golf Club Torino four shots off the lead, but he closed with a final round 5-under 67, which included a back nine 31, as he captured the 70° Open d’Italia Lindt for his second career European Tour title.
The Frenchman finished with a 12-under par 276 victory total, one shot clear of runners-up and fellow Pro V1x loyalists David Higgins and Steve Webster.
"I am very proud of this back nine," said Quesne, whose maiden victory came in the Open de Andalucía in 2012. "My attitude was very good this week and I think this is the key. To enjoy a second win on The European Tour is like a dream for me."
The win marks the 19th by Titleist golf ball loyalists on the 2013 European Tour, nearly five times the nearest competitor with 4.
Of the 145-player field, 100 players relied upon Titleist golf balls, five times the nearest competitor with 20 and more than all competitors combined.
CHAMPIONS TOUR: Pacific Links Hawai'i
It was an all-Titleist Pro V1 sudden death playoff at the Pacific Links Hawai'i, where Mark Wiebe defeated Corey Pavin with a par on the second extra hole. Both players finished at 11-under 205 in the second year of the tournament's staging, one shot ahead of fellow Pro V1 golf ball loyalist Bernhard Langer.
"I didn't play as well as I did the first two days," Wiebe said in a post-round interview. "But I played my butt off. I've never won twice in one year before."
The victory marks the 17th win for Titleist players on the 2013 Champions Tour, compared to one win for the nearest competitor.
Titleist was the most played ball in the field of 81 with 61 players, more than 10 times the nearest competitor with 6.
AUSTRALASIAN TOUR: South Pacific Open Championship
Trusting his Pro V1x golf ball, Andre Stolz won on the fifth hole of a sudden death playoff over Titleist Brand Ambassador Michael Wright (Pro V1x, 913D3 driver, 913F fairway metal, 913H hybrid, AP2 irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron putter).
