I am 71 years old and this is my 2nd...the first was when I was 69. I have been playing since I was 11 years old and with both there was a sense of shock as I never expected to have any after so many years...what an amazing experience and what an amazing sport.

I birde the 15th and the 16th and than the ACE on the 17th hole it was the greatest day I had in playing Golf. However I think my three friends were just as happy for me as I was for myself man what an afternoon.

I took up the game seriously two summers ago. I recently was laid off, so have been playing almost daily. I'm a near beginner, getting 52's and 53's almost every 9 hole round.
On May 24th, at Shamrock,Dublin, Ohio I started using my Titleist on a long par 5 and Parred it...so I kept using the same ball as we made the turn. I started using my 5 wood more often as I rarely use it. I happen to par two holes back to back which is amazing for me.
On 14, a par 3, 125 yards, I pulled out my 5 wood and Titleist proV1X. The ball went straight for the hole but hit early in front of the green. I thought it was going to stop. It hopped onto the green and all of a sudden, it disappeared! I had an adrenalin rush of a life time as I ran up to look..and WOW..it was in the cup.
I finished the round with 45 on the back 9..and broke 100 for only the 2nd time.
Thank you Titleist.. its great to know that a beginner can enjoy a sport this much!!!

Don Cash Jr First Ace

I do not normally play on weekdays, but I got a call from some friends,Ted Downing, Rob Zitzelsberger and John Dobrovich late Monday afternoon to play and I was going to be home alone as my wife had a meeting to attend so I said "Sure"... Off to the Fairway River Links we went and we teed off at about 5, the last group out that evening, not sure if we would get the round in. Things were moving along at a good pace, until I hit OB on two consecutive holes. Two new Pro V's lost, I reached into my bag and got one that had seen some better days but I did not want to lose a whole sleeve of new ones in one round. The round then turned positive and I recovered to salvage the front nine. The pace we had to keep to get finished was going to be a brisk one, but we did just that. When we reached the 18th hole it was almost dusk. The final hole was a 185 yard par 3 with traps on both sides of the kidney shaped greens, and the pin was tucked tight against the right trap. I then reached into my bag and got my trusty 9 wood, and took a nice easy swing, and it hit right at the pin,but I could not see it land. When we got to the green, there was no ball in sight. I thought I had hit it over into the rough behind the green. I started to look for it and my friend,John Dobrovich yelled to me "It's in the hole!". I thought he was just joking, and I told him to stop kidding , He said "I'm not,it is is the hole" and sure enough it was. My first hole-in-one after playing golf for 43 years. It was a great feeling!!
