bittersweet Hole in One

I was playing a match play in our club's Match Play competition. On #16, I had just lost 3 & 2. So we all teed off on #17 at Rivermont Golf and Country Club, which has about a 45 foot drop from tee to green. Three of us landed on the green; my ball mark was about 12 feet short of the hole, and had rolled in apparently from the left, and was in the back of the cup below the green surface, suspended by the pin.

My playing partners were at first more excited than I was, since I had just lost the match. I had also made another hole-in-one two years ago on another hole at Rivermont.

Obviously not thinking, I played the same ball on #18 Par 4, past the lake on the left, and parred the hole...

A good time was had by all at the 19th hole.....
