My First

My First

Afrer 24 years of playing, I finally got my first ace. This occurred at Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome, GA on Saturday, September 15th, 2012 during the "Cupcake Invitational", a golf tournament that we have made a tradition in honor of the UGA football's cupcake game each year. This year, 24 players attended and I couldn't have picked a better group of guys to share this with. The shot came from a Titleist CB 690 Forged PW on the 4th hole, a 144 yard par 3. I have played this course many times, as this is where we played and practiced as part of the golf team while attending college at Shorter University in Rome. The pin was in the front, so it played a bit shorter than the 144 on the card. I actually changed clubs right before I hit. The shot looked good in the air (don't they all?), but this one landed 3 feet short, one hopped and spun back in the hole. It is one of the best feelings in the world. I am so glad that I had witnesses. I am especially glad for one of the witnesses, Matt Dunn, who organized this outing and made it all possible. I definitely owe him after this weekend!
