FIRST HOLE IN ONE
What a start
3rd hole in one
My First Hole in One
Posted: January 22, 2013
61 years old and had my first hole in one at hollytree cc in tyler tx par 3 100 yd with a pro v1
After our Monday morning league was cancelled due to strong winds (the ball was blown off the green)and cold temperatures,a group of four of us said what the heck let's play. We started with a shotgun start on hole nine. The wind was a two to three club wind and my round was mostly boggies and doubles with several three putts! We came to hole seven and Duane hit his 140 yard club to the 114 yard hole. I took out my 8 iron and hit my Titleist #1 NXT-Tour to the front of the green right on line with the pin. It took a high bounce and went in the hole! When I took the ball from the cup, Howard made the comment "At least you did not three putt". My first HOLE IN ONE! Regards, Darwin Bostic
41 Years ago I got my first hole in one. Unfortunately it was on a "mulligan" so it was really just a par. One of the boys I was playing with said "it's probably the only hole in one you'll ever have so let's make a pact...it was a legit hole in one. That fib lasted less then 24 hours till one of the guys "ratted me out". I felt about 2 inches tall. There was a feeling of relief somehow that I was able to actually justify the drinks my dad bought in the clubhouse so many years ago when I was 15 (I had no idea he was buying everyone drinks 41 years ago or I would have fessed up, honestly). When he found out the "hole in one" from so many years ago was just a par he said "why didn't you tell me it was on a mulligan, I had to buy drinks!". . Yesterday I got my first "Real" hole in one, on my first shot on a par 3, no mulligan this time. It felt Very Good....and somehow I feel a sense of relief.
It was #11 at tustin ranch and from the blue it played 162 yards. i hit 7 iron. The ball hit 8 feet left and short of the hole and curled up into the cup. I saw the divot and the ball rolling towards the hole and i said to my friend "i think it went in!" (It was my friend Toni's wife's birthday,my fiancé and I were playing with them. The distance across the lake was too far for anyone of us to see if the ball had really gone in (how many times have you gotten to the hole and the ball was hiding behind the flag) I was 75% sure it went in but the wait for everyone to hit was agonizing). Janis kept telling me "don't get your hopes up honey, just wait and see" When I got to the hole there was a guy standing on the road into the course. He said he actually saw it hit and go in the hole on his ride into the course and wanted to hang around to congratulate me and verify the shot if I need it. The attached photo is a shot from the Tee box I hit from.
I have been golfing for five years now and this is my first hole in one. I hit a 7 wood 145 yards with the new Velocity that ball is great and it flys nice. That is a great feeling to hit a ball so nice i am getting extra yardage since i switched to that ball love it keep up the good work.
