A Special Round with a Special Ball

A Special Round with a Special Ball

April 30, 2013 I was headed out to play my first round in my Tuesday Ladies League at Wellshire Golf Club since having completed surgery and treatment for breast cancer. A friend had given me a Titleist ball with the pink breast cancer remembrance ribbon. It was beautifully boxed and was being kept with many other gifts that friends had given since my diagnosis. I have a tendency to save "special" things, but on this day I decided I deserved to use this special ball. On the 11th hole, I hit a perfect shot that landed about 6 ft. from the pin. It took an immediate turn to the left, rolled into the cup, and hardly shook the flag. My three league friends were as excited as I was, and one lady was thoughtful enough to take a picture of me removing the ball from the cup. Of course, it was my first ace and an event I'll never forget.
