Quiet Thursday

Our club is in a suburb of New Orleans . Its 10 minutes from my downtown office . My afternoon cleared up so I went out to practice and ended up joining a couple of friends for a casual few holes with no intention of completing a round . We started on the back side and came to number 12 hole that was playing 148 yards downwind. It's an elevated REDAN green surrounded by bunkering on the front left and right sides of the green. Years ago I began my routine on every par 3 by calling out to my playing partners "I'm going to make a hole in one".
Well, I'm in my 24th year I abandoned that wish several years ago and never believed it would happen.
I made a good pass through the ball with a 7 iron , the ball flight never left the pin, the PROv1 bit
skipped and disappeared. I thought it ran past the hole . My 2 buddies almost in unison said "YOU JUST MADE A HOLE IN " . Now , I had to finish the round and I did with one of my better scores in months.
