Playing Ironwood GC in Gainesville, Fl. Showed up as single and paired with 3 nice guys. #14 is 147 yards from Blue tees and I chose my AP2 7 iron. It is their signature hole on their scorecard. The two senior guys didn't see the ball but my other partner saw it land, take one hop and disappear. Once I got to green I started looking around the back of the green, thinking it went long.....it was awesome seeing it in the bottom of the cup! I played my Gator logo DT Solo ball.
I hit a 9 iron high and right on a breezy day and the wind brought it back and hit the flag stick and right in the cup on the fly. It was such an amazing sound to hear the ball hit the flag stick. I did not know the ball was in the cup until I got there. What a good feeling.
I've had many memorable days playing golf for the past 58 years and a hole in one is not one of them but on August 28 hole number 3 black course at D Fairchild Wheeler playing with my best friends Joe Perrotta,Jim Brideau and Joe Drywer I hit my Titleist pro v1x 10ft. behind the pin and drew it down the hill into the hole.A 19th hole celebration followed the round.
Had the rare privilege yesterday of getting a hole in one. What makes it even more special is that I had a hole in one on the same hole three years ago. Third ace in 50 years of golfing
Recently scored a hole-in- one on the same hole three years apart. The odds for getting a single ace are astronomical, let alone two. Third ace in 50 years of golfing. Never won the lotto, though. Must be unlucky.
