Ace the day after qualifying for the Boston Marathon

Ran the Erie Presque Isle Marathon on Sunday qualifying for the Boston Marathon by nearly 30 minutes with a 3:10. Next day, Monday, with some overall body soreness from the race had great opportunity to play in the Buffalo Bills Alumni Golf Tourney. Our 2nd hole at Seneca Hickory Stick (beautiful new layout north of Niagara Falls, NY) was the 12th ... approx 157yds into a rather strong headwind. Chose a 7 iron and really smoothed it! One of my playing partners was laying down heavy compliment on how nice the swing was ... we were chatting back and forth not really paying attention on the finish of the shot ... while another partner said matter of fact "I think that went into the hole". Sure enough my Titleist Pro V1 392 was in the cup! With sore legs, my short irons for some reason were laser focused that day but my long game was horrible. I also won the tourney's "closest to the pin hole" with a shot to 11 inches. This is my 2nd hole-in-one, my first was during a high school golf match 38 years ago as a 16 year old. Didn't think it would take so long to get another one! Plan next spring day after the Boston Marathon ... I will play a round of golf somewhere hoping the HIO magic can strike again!
