It was a practice round for the upcoming County Senior Am the following week. I didn't really have time to play (I had final exams to grade!), but knew it was my last chance to play that course before the tournament, so went out first thing in the morning. After a couple of opening pars, and hitting the ball okay, my 175 yard 5-iron hit the left side of the green and spun down the slope to the hole. I was playing an NXT-S optic yellow ball - very easy to see it go in, even for the old guy in the adjacent fairway who seemed more excited about it than I was! That led to a 74 - so shot my age and made my fifth hole-in-one (fourth since 2009) in the same round. Too bad I didn't wait a week!
