I finally got my first hole-in-one today after 28 years of playing golf. In recent years my number of rounds have declined significantly with a 5 and 7 year old at home. I was wondering if I would ever get a hole-in-one. Lot's of close calls but nothing like I experience today. It was a fantastic shot on hole # 4 at Flagg Creek. The pin was playing around 135 yards and I grabbed my 9 iron also factoring in a little wind. I tried to stay right of the pin given the slope.
The pin was in the far back left side of green. I hit my shot right of the pin about 35 - 40ft, had some side spin that got it rolling and with the slope of the green it rolled and then disappeared into the hole. Ironically I was wearing my Troon North cap and playing my Troon North logo Titleist NXT Tour ball. I took a few hours off work in the afternoon to spend with my nephew who is heading to Army boot camp soon, and got to enjoy some time with him and the family. It could not have been a better group to enjoy and witness my round and the hole-in-one.
