Enjoying my first hole in one with my pals

I was playing a below average round of golf with my two pals at Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame in South Bend, IN until we got to the 9th hole. It was a 149 yard Par 3. The pin was placed right center surrounded by bunkers at the front and right side. A swift wind was blowing directly against us. I hmm'd and hawed and finally decided on a 7 iron against my threesome's advice (they recommended two clubs up). As usual, I ignored their advice and followed my regular routine: alignment, grip, posture and pured the ball. As it was up in the air, my friend Robert called it a hole in one before it landed. Prophetically, my ball landed 7 feet short of the hole and disappeared into the hole!

It was a blur but I recall the three of us arm in arm jumping up and down cheering as though we just won the Ryder Cup. It was a true thrill. We then conveniently proceeded to the bar where I followed the tradition of buying a round of drinks. Well worth it!
