I had my first hole in one at the age of 15 at Latrobe Country Club on hole number 2 with an 8 iron at 135 yards while playing alone and promptly lost the ball when I hit the next tee shot out of bounds on number 3 It has only been 66 years later at the age of 81 to get my second one. It was on the 16th hole at Boulder Oaks Golf Course in Escondido, a 97 yard hole, again using an 8 iron This time I both had a playing partner and was able to actually see the ball bounce into the hole. I then promptly retired the Titleist from play for a trophy display.
