Dave's Hole in One

Dave's Hole in One

On 7/31/17 after 36 years of play, I had my first hole in one. I have a 20 handicap which is eight strokes better than when I retired and now have more time for golf. I moved to Ar to escape the Illinois winters and play more or less all year long. I play a Cobra Fly-Z hybrid/irons and F6 Driver/woods. I normally play balls I find walking my home course on this day I was playing ProV1's. I was playing Ponce de Leon golf course in Hot Springs Village Ar. I was playing with my Monday foursome, however we were missing a player and were a threesome. I started out with a three put double bogie then followed it with two more doubles and couple of single bogies. Then on # 7 had my ace. That day it was playing 175 yards to a back pin location behind the right sand bunker. I made a good swing my 5 Wood and hit solid in line with the center of the green. my concern was carrying the bunker. I am one of those players who talks to the ball in the air and I encouraged several times to carry the bunker. Once it did and started rolling out to the back of the green, I picked up my tee and stated for the cart. When on of my playing partners who must also taken his eyes of the ball asked " where did it go". I looked back on the only ball on the green was one hit before my shot. The only place it could be was in the cup. We jumped into our carts and raced up to the green to confirm it was in the hole. Low and behold it was, the picture is attached.
