Ace at Oak Point-Kiawah Road Hole!

Ace at Oak Point-Kiawah Road Hole!

I was playing in an annual charity golf tournament, at Oak Point Golf Club-Kiawah Island Golf Resort, in the back of my neighborhood, with 3 awesome friends/co-workers from the River Course-Kiawah. 18 hole, Captains choice format. It was a beautiful day, around 65-70F, with a lite breeze. Hole #15 is a short par 3, over water and next to Main Road, which leads you onto Kiawah and Seabrook Islands. We were playing from the Johnston tees(white tees), which we shot at approximately 125 yards, back left pin, tucked behind the large bunker on the left. My 3 buddies hit great shots on the green and surrounded the pin from 7-10 feet out. I stepped up and said "no pressure, let me put this ball in the hole!" With my Vokey 52 in hand, I teed up a ProV1 and hit it right at the pin, one hop on the green, hit the pin and dropped in for the ACE! We heard it drop, It was awesome! Especially with me being the highest handicap player in our group at 18! We had two awesome club members behind us and they were kind to take the picture and congratulate me immediately afte they saw it happen and our jumping high 5s!!! On the next hole, the cart girls pulled up and my bar tab was all down hill after that! We went on to win the tournament with a -18, 54 and donated our winning check back to tournament's charity/memorial fund! This was my 2nd hole in one! Great times, cheers!
