On a brand new episode of Golf Fitness Academy, PGA Tour player and Titleist ambassador Troy Matteson joins co-hosts Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips to demonstrate a total body workout that targets the chest, core and legs to improve strength and stability in the golf swing.
Matteson, who won the 2006 Frys.com Open, developed his total body workout with the help of one of the Georgia Tech football coaches while he was enrolled at the school. Beginning with cardio to get the body warmed up, Troy progresses into a series of push-ups that target muscles throughout the chest and shoulders. He then uses a medicine ball to focus on the core, progressing through a sequence of throws, twists and crunches. With key muscles warmed up, Matteson concludes with a series of exercises that mimic key movements in the golf swing.
