Titleist ambassador and Frys.com Open defending champion Troy Matteson had his title defense get off to a rough start when he broke both his 907D2 driver and one of his 906F4 fairways during Tuesday's practice round. Troy was riding in a golf cart, which players were permitted to use during practice rounds this week, when his clubs got caught up in a fairway rope he was attempting to pass under. Luckily, the Titleist Tour Van was able to get Troy set back up with some gamers for Thursday's opening round.

Since Troy's clubs broke near the middle of the shaft, will you pull the heads and re-shaft them? Or build him entirely new clubs? If so, what happens to the heads that were on the broken shafts? If I broke two of my Titleist woods worth that much and didn't have the luxury of getting free replacements, I'd be pretty mad! Keep up the awesome blog.

We did both. When the clubs snapped, Troy was at the other course. He called me and I had both a driver and 3-wood built and ready for him when he came to the course where the Tour Van was. That's when he brought his broken clubs in and we re-built those for Wednesday morning.

I noticed in the background of the picture that there is a green Titleist/Scotty Cameron staff bag. Are those bags available to consumers? I love Titleist! Keep making wonderful products!

Scotty has occasionally offered limited edition staff bags through the Studio Store on ScottyCameron.com. Your best bet is to sign up for Scotty Cameron E-News on his site to keep apprised of all of the new Studio Store offerings.
