The new Titleist AP2 irons, which began shipping to golf shops this week, are gaining momentum across the worldwide professional tours and attention by the national publications. Check out this morning's article in USA Today featuring the AP2 irons that are being played with success by Adam Scott and many others on the Titleist Tour staff.
Titleist ambassador Adam Scott is one of the many full-line Titleist players to put the new Titleist AP2 irons in play on tour.

I know that Adam uses a 50° Vokey bent to 49 as his pitching wedge, but does he have Dynamic Gold X100s in all of his wedges as well as his irons? I got my AP2s in and I have to say that this is one of the BEST irons that Titleist has ever come out with. Are there any plans for a 2-iron to make its way to retail in the AP2s? Keep up the great work.

Adam uses DG X100 shafts in all of his irons and wedges. There are currently no plans to offer an AP2 2-iron.

Can you advise when the new SureFit iron fitting systems with the AP1 and AP2 heads will be sent to your fitting partners in the central Florida area?

SureFit systems featuring 10 interchangeable iron heads and 15 shafts will begin shipping to our Titleist FittingWorks Partners nationwide within the next couple of weeks. Our <a href="www.fittingworks.com/FindaFitter.aspx rel="nofollow">Advanced FittingWorks Centers, which receive SureFit systems featuring 20 interchangeable iron heads and 21 shafts, will be receiving their systems in early April.

Hello Tour blog! Dynamic Gold shafts have been popular on tour for decades. A lot of players today, though, are using stepless shafts. What is the advantage of the "old" DG shaft against the modern shafts?

When can I expect the left-handed AP2s to be available?

Is Adam Scott using a 9½" (S83) or a 10½" (S82) staff bag?

I don't understand how it's possible to have a forged club head with Tungsten?

Will the new Titleist mesh hat with PRO V1 on the side be available to the public? I noticed Adam had it on during the WGC-CA Championship.

The new logo treatment will be a rolling change to the A-FLEX flexible fit sports mesh hat (Style #AF8-13) that Adam wears. You should start to see it in golf shops shortly.

Adam is using the S82 10½" staff bag.
The Titleist AP2 is a multi-material iron that features a forged 1025 carbon steel body with a high density tungsten nickel box that is laser welded to the back and sole. For more information, please visit the AP2 product page on Titleist.com.
Left-handed AP2 irons should begin shipping in mid-April.
The main difference between traditional shafts with steps (e.g., Dynamic Gold) and stepless shafts (e.g., Project X) is feel. The stepless shafts anecdotally feel different than stepped shafts as the lack of steps keep vibrations from being amplified as they move up the shaft.
Great site, appreciate the work! Just doing due diligence - are the AP2 forged irons designed to increase the spin rate compared to the 695MBs? Thanks for the info.

The multi-material, dual cavity design of the Titleist AP2 irons locates the center of gravity in the center, low, and deep to improve launch conditions compared to traditional blade irons. The box structure and tungsten nickel material tune low frequency vibration for unmatched solid feel.

AP2 irons? I looked at the AP2 site and noticed the CG is below the center support of the iron. So is the sweet spot in the lower 1/3 of the face? What happens to the shot if your ball strike is in the upper half to 3/4 of the face? I realize the density of Tungsten is 2.3 times that of 1025 carbon steel but is this a cost effective engineering decision? Tungsten costs are 15 times that of 1025 not including the additional welding process. Thanks.

For optimal shot results, we don't recommend striking the ball in the upper half to 3/4 of the face with any iron model.

I live in Montreal, and I'd like to know where in Plattsburgh I could find a golf store that sells Titleist AP2 irons and a prototype Scotty Cameron putter? If you know the price it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I love this site and visit it regularly, thanks again.

What 2-iron was Adam Scott using at the WGC-CA Championship last week and what was the loft?
