Congratulations to Scott Hebert, who won the 41st PGA Professional National Championship this week at Reynolds Plantation in Georgia. Scott becomes the ninth Titleist Staff Player to win the event in the past 10 years. A great ambassador for the Titleist brand, Scott is a 39-year old head professional at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme, Mich. He won the event in dramatic fashion, closing with a final round 4-under-par 68, which included five birdies over the final nine holes for a 31 to win by one shot. The top 20 finishers of the PGA PNC earn invitations to the 90th PGA Championship. It will be an added bonus for Scott that the event will be contested in his home state of Michigan, when it is played from August 7-10 at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township.
What's in Scott Hebert's bag?:
907D4 prototype driver (9.5°)
906F2 3-wood (13.0°)
585.H utility metal (17.0°)
AP2 irons (3-P)
Vokey Design 200 Series gap wedge (52°)
Vokey Design Spin Milled lob wedge (58°)
Scotty Cameron Newport putter
Two other prominent Titleist Staff Players Ryan Benzel (Pro V1x, 907D2 driver, 906F4 3-wood, 503H 3-iron, ZB 4-iron, ZM 5-9 irons, Vokey Design pitching and sand wedges, Spin Milled lob wedge, Scotty Cameron Newport Fastback putter) of Bothell, Wash., and two-time champion Tim Thelen (Pro V1, 907D2 driver, AP2 irons, Vokey Design gap wedge, Spin Milled sand and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Studio Select putter) of College Station, Texas, tied for 4th.
Titleist From Tee-to-Green ...
Titleist was the most played golf ball at the PGA PNC with 181 players, compared to 76 for the nearest competitor. Titleist also swept the equipment categories as the top choice in the driver (151), fairway wood (253), utility metal (110), irons (146), wedge (347) and putter (121) categories.
Congrats to Scotty, well done.
Hope he keeps it rolling.
