Titleist brand ambassador Steve Stricker fired a second round 7-under 64 to take the 36-hole lead at The Barclays, the first event of the 2008 PGA Tour Playoffs. Strick is the defending champion at The Barclays, and he's looking for another strong finish this year to make his case for selection to the United States Ryder Cup team. It is a big week on the PGA European Tour as the SAS Masters marks the start of a three-week sprint to secure qualifying positions on the European Ryder Cup team, or impress the captain enough to be one of two wild card picks. Titleist Pro V1x player Padraig Harrington raises the Wanamaker Trophy after winning the PGA Championship - his third major. Congratulations to Padraig Harrington for winning the 90th PGA Championship. It marks his second major after capturing the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale last month. He has also won three of the last six majors ... Padraig fired a pair of 66's over the weekend, including a closing 32 in the final round to win by 2 ... he had four birdies over the final 12 holes ... Titleist brand ambassador Ben Curtis was in the hunt to the very last shot, coming up just short in his quest for his second major. Ben closed 68-71, and even though he came up just short at the PGA Championship, he sealed his spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team. It will mark Ben's first appearance at the U.S. Ryder. He was was one of the three Titleist players who earned their way onto the team through the points list, along with Boo Weekley and Kenny Perry ... The complete 12-member roster, inclusive of the four Captain's selections will be announced Tuesday, Sept. 2 Weekley tied for 20th this week after posting a final-round 66, matching Harrington for lowest score in the final round ...
