Titleist Brand Ambassadors Chez Reavie, Parker McLachlin, Zach Johnson, Marc Turnesa and Davis Love III have each won on the PGA Tour with a Titleist 909 driver.
The momentum continues for the new Titleist 909 drivers as more and more Titleist players each week on the PGA Tour are placing their trust in these new clubs, which are due in golf shops in November. At the most recent stop on Tour, the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, 22 Titleist 909 drivers were put in play, according to Darrell Survey. Of the 909s in play, 16 were 909D2 drivers, making it the most played model in the field. Be sure to check out the list of Titleist 909 players below to see which model is being played by your favorite Titleist Brand Ambassador on the PGA Tour.
Furthering the 909 momentum on Tour is Titleist Brand Ambassador Marc Turnesa's first win at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Marc's win is the fourth with a 909 driver in the past thirteen weeks on Tour. The other winners and their drivers are noted in the list of Titleist 909 players below.

I saved up last year to buy a 907D2 only to see it replaced by the 909. Is the performance that much better? Any discounts for those that bought the 907? Can't afford another as this was a one time reward for quitting smoking :)

Titleist is ALL I play. I can't wait to get my hands on the 909D3, 909F3 and 909H all with the VooDoo.

I played the 905R. Purchased two drivers other than Titleist, but always went back to my trusty 905R. I did not care for the 907's looks, but I like the 909 series. Will buy the 909D2. Hope I like it.

We believe that the quick transition of the majority of our Tour staff into the new 909 drivers during the middle of the season speaks to the quality of its performance. And congrats on quitting smoking, by the way!

I just got my left-handed 909D2, Aldila Voodoo S-flex shaft today. Got to work with it a bit. My previous driver was a 905R with a Grafalloy ProLaunch Red. LOVE the way the 909 sets up but maybe it's the shaft. We'll see...

Just purchased 909D3, Voodoo S-Flex and 10.5° loft but may exchange for 909D2 tomorrow.

I have two 907D2 drivers, one with Aldila VS Proto 65 at 10.5° and the other at 9.5° with Diamana Blue 73. The VS Proto is my favorite. I just bought the 909D2 with the stock Diamana shaft and took it to the range. It feels stiffer than my other two and it was about 20 yards shorter with a left to right flight. What are your thoughts on the Matrix OZIK XCON-6, Voodoo VS6 or UST AXIVCore Black?

I would like to know which new 909 driver is similar to the 907D2 9.5° with a Fujikura Speeder.

Titleist is the bomb.

The most similar match would likely be the 909D2 in 9.5° with the custom option Fujikura Speeder shaft. We encourage you to work with an Authorized Titleist FittingWorks Partner to find your optimal 909 driver.
I am interested in the 909D2 9.5° driver. At present, I am playing the 905R 10.5° with YS-6+ R flex shaft. My swing speed is roughly 85-95 mph. My friends tell me the YS-6+ shaft plays a bit weaker than most regulars do. My question is, how does the Diamana for Titleist compare to the YS-6+? Will it play stiffer and have lower trajectory?

I would like to know which new 909 driver is similar to the 907D1 10.5° with a DVS 60 R flex shaft? My 907 works very well but I always look for improvements. Is the 909DComp more forgiving than the 907D1? Is the 909DComp more forgiving than the 909D2?

I am curious about your practice of puring or spining the driver shafts. I have noticed a big difference in my own Titleist drivers that have had it done. Is this something you routinely do or is it special order? Or are the new shafts so good that it makes little difference. I will be contacting a fitter to get a new 909 soon. Thanks for great products!

I can't wait to pick up one of the 909 drivers. Titleist is the best brand in golf today and I believe this series of drivers, woods, and hybrids will keep them on top.

A comparison of the two shafts on our shaft description page illustrates that they are very similar from a specifications standpoint. We always recommend working with an Authorized Titleist FittingWorks Partner to determine the proper specifications for your Titleist golf clubs.
The Titleist Golf Club R&D group has conducted testing with Tour and better players to compare performance between shafts that have been specifically oriented (i.e., Pured or spined) and shafts that have not. We have never been able to see or measure any performance difference whatsoever. Therefore, we do not offer any such services as part of our custom offerings.
Hey Chet, glad you gave up smoking! Speaking of smoking, I have a 907D2 also. One of the best clubs in my bag. I have hit all of the new 909 drivers, and, to be honest, I can't really tell much difference between the new clubs and my 907. I did get the new 909F3 because I just have the wrong shaft in my 906F2. I also just replaced my 755s with AP2s and I have to tell you, these irons are absolutely fantastic! Get some AP2s. Curtis Strange told me I'd like him and he was right.

I just ordered a set of ZMs for Christmas (excited like a big child!), but I am not keen on the 909D2 thus far. It does not feel any different (or longer) to me than my 907D2. If anything it feels a touch lighter. Excluding shafts is it lighter? The 909D3 feels heavier and more solid. Is this just my perception?
