We caught up with Titleist Brand Ambassador Rickie Fowler after his Tuesday practice round at the HP Byron Nelson Championship to ask him some questions submitted through the Team Titleist Forum. Following are the questions that were picked along with video responses from Rickie. Thanks to Rickie for taking the time to help us out, best wishes for a great week at the Nelson!
From Chris: When you start off and have a great round going (e.g., -3 after 5 holes), what do you do to keep that going and not get ahead of yourself mentally?
From Barry: Hey Rickie, I wanted to know if you are still using the same shaft in your driver that you used at the Walker Cup and what is it?
From Josh: How do you decide which of your Camerons will be in play?
From Bill: What's your most vivid memory on the golf course? Was it a particular shot that you made? Was it a particular golf course that you loved? Was it the foursome that you were with?
#1 BALL, IRON, WEDGE and PUTTER: According to the Darrell Survey, Titleist was the overwhelming GOLF BALL of choice at the HP Byron Nelson Championship with 108 players, more than six times the nearest competitor with 16. Titleist was also first in IRON SETS with 48; SAND, LOB and APPROACH WEDGES with 130; and PUTTERS with 67.

Team Titleist partnered with the LPGA Tour this week, conducting a sweepstakes in which Team Titleist members could win sets of tickets to this week's Bell Micro LPGA Classic. Titleist's Tour representative on the LPGA Tour, Ann Cain, is in Mobile, Alabama for the event. Ann has some fond memories of the event, including Pro V1 loyalist Angela Stanford's victory last year. Ann sent us the following photographs of some players who will be trusting a Titleist golf ball this week. Click below to view the image gallery:
This week the Titleist Tour Van is on site at the Valero Texas open in San Antonio, which afforded us an opportunity to invite two avid Titleist Players Staff members on-board for an up-close look at the latest equipment offerings and fitting techniques employed by the magicians on the Titleist Tour Van staff. Ryan Crysler and Spencer Reynolds are both certified club fitters at Austin Golf Club and are each passionate teachers of the game. They have co-created MyGolfPerformance.com, a network of websites through which serious players can work with Ryan and Spencer to refine their games from "tee to green, driver to putter and fitness in between". They are also the co-hosts of "Inside the Studio", a show in which Ryan and Spencer preview the latest in golf equipment, interview industry leaders and explore the latest trends in golf technology, fitting and instruction. For these two golf equipment "gear-heads", a trip to the Titleist Tour Van was like a visit for two kids to Santa's workshop. Check out some photos from Ryan and Spencer's visit below.
Ryan is a Titleist Performance Institute-Certified Level III Golf Instructor and a Titleist Top 100 Club Fitter. He has been personally influenced by several great teachers including Claude Harmon III, Butch Harmon, Dave Phillips, Greg Rose, Jim Hardy, Hank Haney, and Buck Mayers. Ryan is inspired by the work of several TPI Advisory Staff members including Gray Cook, Ramsay McMaster, and Tom House and noted authors Tim Ferriss and Gary Vaynerchuk. Ryan's philosophy is that golf is a sport and players should practice, train, and play in an athletic mindset.
Spencer is a dedicated Scotty Cameron enthusiast. Through this hobby Spencer has gotten to know a tight-knit group of collectors that share in his passion and are extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the Scotty Cameron world. Spencer’s primary goal is to outfit players with the best equipment to fit their game, especially in the area of putting. Spencer believes that the short game area is where a player truly shows his or her individuality and is one of the main areas of the game in which fundamentals are highly accompanied by feel.
Both Ryan and Spencer offer on-line instruction. For more information, please visit http://www.playerstaff.com/
