It's becoming pretty clear that this week's Open Championship will be markedly different than the last two quests for the Claret Jug at St. Andrews, at least as far as Mother Nature is hinting. In 2000 and 2005, strong winds were noticeably absent at the Home of Golf, leading to winning scores of 19 under and 14 under, respectively.Already this week, players are getting used to holding their hats, if not their focus. The forecast for the week doesn't show any letup on the Scottish gales, either.Which means on the 150th birthday of The Open Championship, it will be pretty tough to light all those candles. So how to prepare for such conditions?Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott has been working hard on hitting low-trajectory shots – and not just short punches.Check out the video below to hear exactly how Adam is preparing to take on Mother Nature.
Team Titleist awoke early this morning in St. Andrews to join Titleist Brand Ambassador Robert Karlsson on the range at the Old Course, where he introduced to us his new homemade training aid – a Titleist MB 8-iron with a Scotty Cameron red Custom Shop Grip (pictured above), aligned so the flat part of the putter grip is parallel to the leading edge of the club.Karlsson, who enters The Open Championship ranked 31st in the world, says this setup offers him a better understanding and feeling of how his right hand is working with the club, ultimately helping him keep his clubface square through impact.Karlsson tells Team Titleist all about the club in the video below:
Titleist Brand Ambassador Kevin Na will put the new Titleist 910 driver in play this week at The Open Championship at St. Andrews.
A couple weeks ago, Na visited Titleist's Oceanside Test Facility in Carlsbad, Calif., to get fitted for his new 910. He will play the Old Course with a 910D3 (7.5 degrees).
You can listen in on one of Kevin's conversations with Larry Bobka (Vice President, Titleist Tour Promotions) in the video below:

One of the coolest possible weeks in golf is upon us (whether or not the Scottish weather kicks in): The Open Championship is at St. Andrews for the 28th time, 137 years after Tom Kidd became the first Champion Golfer of the Year at the Old Course.
Team Titleist hit the scene in St. Andrews last week before the crowds (and even most of the players) started to gather at the Home of Golf, and the hallowed grounds were already buzzing.(Our adrenaline is certainly on overdrive, considering the amount of people we have mistaken for Old Tom Morris.)Click on the image below to view images of the Old Course on the eve of an Open Championship, and be sure to check back this week for exclusive, inside-the-ropes content from Team Titleist at the Open.(Also, don't forget to submit a question for Scott Van Pelt, who will be answering his favorites for Team Titleist members early this week at St. Andrews.)
Scotty Cameron putter rep, Larry, and Studio fitter, Paul, hopped the pond a week early to work the
Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond.
