Titleist Brand Ambassadors Davis Love III and Zach Johnson will have additional duties as hosts of this week's inaugural McGladrey Classic.

The Sea Island residents just returned from Wales, where Love served as assistant captain for Team USA and Johnson posted a 2-1 record in America's dramatic 14.5-13.5 loss to Europe, including a 3-and-2 victory over Pro V1x loyalist Padraig Harrington in the 11th singles match.

The pair will be playing together in the featured threesome through the first two rounds of the tournament, along with fellow Sea Island resident and Ryder Cup teammate Matt Kuchar. They tee off Thursday at 12:50 p.m.

Team Titleist caught up with Zach Wednesday at Sea Island, where he said he is a little jet lagged but will be ready to play once the competition starts.

"It will be great to be able to sleep in my own bed and get up to play golf," said Johnson. "There will be a lot of friendly faces and family that is coming in, so it's going to be a great week. I've also got both my children here at the tournament for the first time in my life, so that's pretty special as well."

Both Love and Johnson were influential in working with the PGA Tour and McGladrey in bringing the event to their backyard. The Davis Love Foundation will be the primary beneficiary of the charitable proceeds.
