A buzz has emerged this week in the locker room and on the range at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons, Ga., home of the PGA Tour's inaugural McGladrey Classic, thanks to the return of the plain white golf ball boxes.To tour players, that means only one thing: New product from the #1 ball in golf. And not just any new product, either. Meet the next generation Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.
After many prototypes and months of successful R&D testing with PGA Tour players, the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x seeding process began in earnest on Monday as players arrived at Sea Island to find Titleist Golf Ball R&D fitting experts Fordie Pitts and Jeff Beyers armed with white boxes and ready to conduct on-course evaluations with many of the world's best golfers.
This is a critical step in the golf ball fitting process as it allows tour players to compare the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x to the golf ball they currently put in play. While walking the course with the players and observing them hit multiple shots with each of the golf balls, Pitts and Beyers are able to help fit the players with the golf ball best suited for their game. Team Titleist tagged along on Tuesday with Pitts and Beyers as they walked the fairways and greens with Titleist Brand Ambassadors Troy Matteson and Bo Van Pelt, and golf ball loyalists Charlie Wi and Dean Wilson, among others. There was a lot of great discussion between the players and our experts as the on-course session included in-depth reviews of the features and benefits as the players put the new golf balls through their paces.
Stay tuned for more information about the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls as the Fall Series continues on the PGA Tour, and the new product gets seeded on the professional tours around the world.

ID love a sample i play twice to 3 times a week and i feel playing with a new ball would make my rounds more fun, it would require me to actually test the ball

I am one of the lucky testers of both the pro v1 and pro v1x. I loved the pro v1, and will give the pro v1x a go tomorrow. Should be some fun fall golf coming up ...

Would love to try a sleeve ProV1x. What are my chances? I'd provide feedback if needed.

Played my prototype Prov1x balls today. Played my best round in about two months. Shot a 74 but couldn't putt all day (not because of the balls, because of the greens that weren't in the best shape). Hit the ball more solidly than I ever have. Spun the ball more than I ever have. Very good ball. I can't wait for them to come out.

You were kind enough to send me some prototypes and of course I don't know which ones I played (all marked TEST). Great soft Titleist feel, perhaps more distance but I thought I detected greater spin around greens. can't wait to get more!

If my guess is right, I recently compared the new and current Pro-V1x balls. I like the new ball a lot, but at my level of expertise, the difference is very slight.

Well I got to the course yesterday and started my test of the prototype ProV1x balls, the ball seemed to have a little more distance off of the tee but of course I will have to continue my evaluation again today. I will stay in touch.

I tried a sleeve of these that they sent me and they were excellent. Improved flight and distance. A great ball!!!

I would love to get my hands on these to help out in any decision process on if these are the right titleist ball for the market.

I got a sample of them. VERY similar to the prov1x with the exception of less scuffing on full wedges and less spin on 10 yard pitch shots

I got mine last week and was so very thankful to get a sleeve of them, they are great and had some great spin on them!

Just played some today with my test balls. I think the ball feels alot better, I think if I had you say what it is ike I would say a combo of the ProV and the Pro V1X. Higher flight than the X and softer, but it did not seem to go as fas. Putting this ball is as good as it gets, PURE!

Results of new prototype ProV1X. Drive on hole #2 344 yd. ; Drive on hole #7 dogleg left over trees par 5 145 yds left to green. Putting for eagle. This ball does everything on command- Hit it straight, Work it for a high draw; Fade it around a tree; punch under branches; stop on a dime for sand shots;
Durability is unbelievable. Team Titleist has a Winner. This prototype does it all for the plus handicap player.
