A buzz has emerged this week in the locker room and on the range at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons, Ga., home of the PGA Tour's inaugural McGladrey Classic, thanks to the return of the plain white golf ball boxes. To tour players, that means only one thing: New product from the #1 ball in golf. And not just any new product, either. Meet the next generation Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.
After many prototypes and months of successful R&D testing with PGA Tour players, the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x seeding process began in earnest on Monday as players arrived at Sea Island to find Titleist Golf Ball R&D fitting experts Fordie Pitts and Jeff Beyers armed with white boxes and ready to conduct on-course evaluations with many of the world's best golfers.
This is a critical step in the golf ball fitting process as it allows tour players to compare the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x to the golf ball they currently put in play. While walking the course with the players and observing them hit multiple shots with each of the golf balls, Pitts and Beyers are able to help fit the players with the golf ball best suited for their game. Team Titleist tagged along on Tuesday with Pitts and Beyers as they walked the fairways and greens with Titleist Brand Ambassadors Troy Matteson and Bo Van Pelt, and golf ball loyalists Charlie Wi and Dean Wilson, among others. There was a lot of great discussion between the players and our experts as the on-course session included in-depth reviews of the features and benefits as the players put the new golf balls through their paces.
Stay tuned for more information about the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls as the Fall Series continues on the PGA Tour, and the new product gets seeded on the professional tours around the world.

You sent me a sleeve of the new pro-v1 that was unveiled in Georgia this week. I was absolutely thrilled with the new ball. I'm a 5 handicapper and found that it had exceptional distance, feel and durability . I would definitely play these balls above any I have tried in the past. With out a doubt the best ball out there.

A few weeks ago I received a white sleeve of Titleist golf balls with the word, "TEST" in the arrow that usually says Pro V1 or Pro V1x. If they are the new Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls, they are GREAT! They are longer, softer, and spin less holding the greens. LOVE THEM!!

i'm not sure if i have prov1 or prov1X they just say <----test----->
I've rec'd the TEST sleeve and had try them out and let me tell you " they are the best". I drive the ball farther.. wedge shots were spot on ( you can control the spin better )...It's the best ball that I've played..... please send more of the test sleeve ....
Thank you Titliest ...

I was one of the lucky ones who had the opportunity to help in evaluating the new Titleist Pro v's. Any chance of team Titleist golfers who participated in the evaluation getting a chance to buy the product at a reduced price? If the other participants were anything like me they spent countless hours hitting the prototypes from all situations on the course and spent considerable time in comparing the new ball with the one presently played. I've played golf for over 50 years and coached it for over 30 years. The first time I teed up a Tittleist was in the late 1960's when they cost $1.25, were made from balata and could be rendered unplayable with one misguided iron; nevertheless they were the best ball then and remain the best ball I've ever played.

I loved being part of the test group last month and I think that box of Pro V1 golf balls above would fit nicely in my titleist bag.

played two rounds with pro-v1 vs prototype (hitting both on each hole). mostly the difference
was in feel around the green. driving difference about equal in my opinion. both are fine and better than nike (what I used to play).

Why are you teasing us??? Give us some, or sell us some, so we can see for ourself if they are what you say!!! They must be something if they"re better than the ProV1 or ProV1x.. When will the poor old public get a chance to try them out??
