I presently use the previous AP2 irons what are the main improvements if I decide to move to the new AP2 irons

What would be the difference in performance between the AP2 and the CB irons? It would seem that these irons appeal to the same level of golfer.

I have played x-18's with rifle shafts for years. I have recently tried to make the switch to mizuno with gold s300 shafts and I am having a difficult time. In fact, I have returned to my x-18's and sold the others. My question is, Is it mental, is it the offset, or is it the shaft. I am a 15 HC and am interested in the AP 2's.

As a teacher, club fitting is a very important element to helping the student improve their swing and play better. When it comes to club fitting today, I think many golfers are playing with clubs that are fit too upright for them. The lie angle standards for all the major companies seem to keep changing more upright each passing year.
The more upright the club sits on the ground for a student, the higher they set their hands at address, the more upright they swing the club and the more over the top they swing shows up on video.
As a training aid, put a 10 degrees flat club in their hands and ask them to hit it. At first it may not be pretty, however, over a short period of time, the student's swing will begin to change. The hands will set a little lower, the swing will begin to round out, swing a little flatter, less over the top and more on plane.
Club fitting and golf instruction is a blend of both Art and Science.

I'm a Titleist man! Ever since I got fitted for my AP2's and 909D3 Driver, my game has been incredible!!
My issue relates to driver vs 3 wood shafts. I've got a Pro Force V2 76 grm 2.2 shaft in my 909D3 9.5 Driver. It's the best driver shaft combo I've ever owned.
I purchased a new 3 wood and was told it's the rule of thumb to go 10 grm heavier and a bit stiffer, down to a 1.8 torque shaft for the fairway wood. But, I tried it and I don't have the same "feel" when I swing it as with my driver. I'd like to put the same driver shaft in the 3 wood. Is that possible? And, can you explain the thought process behind the different weight and torque? Thanks so much, Randall G. Pasadena, Ca

Will the 712 CB's & MB's be available in a blended set? Lets say 3-6 in CB and 7-W MB?

I'm currently playing original AP 1's. What differences can I expect to see with the AP1 712?
Thanks

In designing the changes to the new 712 line up, what were the defining end goals of the changes for each sub section ( AP1, Ap2, CB, MB)?
The CB and MB were a great club in the 710 line up, and aside from the finish, were there any other tweaks suggested by the R&D, or Tour Pro's for these clubs, or was the simple classic lines enough to leave and push out a new line?
The AP2's in the 712 line up are GREAT. I see the changes, and feel the changes from the 710 line up, and really like them. What was the goal at the end to change on the AP2? Was it to make the iron more "player" like, with a smaller profile, enhance the feel, and workability of them, bring them close to the flight of the MB's and such, or was the "forgiveness" factor the driving force in designing these? I can see a bit of both in the new design, but I'm curious, which was more important when you all sat down at the drawing board. Making a club that was clean, and geared towards the better player, or making one that was closer to being a game improvement iron in a players club body?
Thanks!

I am a 19 hc. I currently hit circa 2002 990's bought used. I would like to get some new irons and do not want something that won't be a little over my head rather than something I'll need to replace again in a couple of years.
Male age 57, 75+ rpy in Boise, 9 mos. per year of golf. Confused between AP 1's or 2's.
Thanks,
Bob

I'm a 69yr. old and have played golf for about 45 years. My index is 11.9 and I have been between a 9 to12 index for the past 30 years.
I have a fairly slow swing speed (driver 85mph) and my average drive is about 200yds. I club my irons (+ or - 8 to 10 yards) off my 5 iron which I usually hit 145yds. under normal conditions.
I currently play Wilson Ci7 irons with graphite shafts that were custom fit for me.
I really like the looks (thinner top line similar to my Ci7's) of the AP1 irons but have concerns that they may not be forgiving enough for my type of game (slow swing speed).
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I am a low handicap player (current index 3.7). I still play the Titleist DCI 962 irons. (I know they are old) This off-season I am looking to buy new irons and they will definitely be Titleist. I am wondering which of the new irons would be most suitable for me. I would love to finally be playing forged irons but I am not sure if I am ready for a traditional blade. I am looking for the best performance possible. Any advice or suggestions that you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

I faithfully buy new Titleist irons every two years with each series offering. Having bought two sets of 710mb's, i am curious what, if any, advances or different qualities i would get by moving to the 712mb's? Are the differences that noticable?
Thank you

I do fine with distance, but direction is usually my problem (inconsistent, right and left of target).
Which product would best help me?

The only consistent criticism that I have ever heard about the AP-1 is that cosmetically the finish was easily marked up. Is this a valid criticism and has it been addressed in the AP-1 712.

How do the 712 Steel shafts differ from the 710's.
Vincent C wrote on November 17, 2011 at 5:09PM
What performance differences can i expect from the 712mb's verses the 710mb's? Other than turf interaction, will there be a noticable difference in ball flight?
