As many Titleist Brand Ambassadors start their journey to the 2012 AT&T National, they’ll have a nice surprise waiting of for them on the range of Congressional Country Club – new prototype Titleist 913 drivers.
And we’re excited to be bringing Team Titleist a sneak peek of what’s in store for this week.
Starting Monday morning, our Titleist Tour Reps will be in full force working closely with Titleist players in the field to check all of the build specs and SureFit Tour hosel settings to help players get dialed-in with the new prototype 913 drivers for testing.
This marks the official introduction of the new drivers on the PGA Tour and kicks off the tour seeding and performance validation process that all Titleist clubs go through prior to being released in the market.
The Titleist Golf Club R&D team will also be on-site to walk through some of the new technology and advancements that players will see in the prototype 913 drivers. They’ll also be taking note of the feedback from the player testing as this will influence the design and specifications of the final product that is made available to golf shops around the world.
In case you were wondering, “913” is the series designation for the new family of drivers. Titleist continues to release metals under the 900 number designation with the “9” standing for metals and the “13” indicating the new model year, 2013.
As the tour seeding and performance validation process continues in the coming weeks across the worldwide professional tours, we’ll continue to share more behind-the-scenes information and product details here on the Team Titleist.
In the meantime, check out the slideshow below for a first look at the new prototype Titleist 913 drivers as they were being built and packed for their trip to Washington D.C. (and a few player’s homes).

Great looking design - I'm sure the performance will be as great!

Any meaningful info on the 913? Are they 460cc, ???. I appreciate the article, but would like to know more about it/innovation over the 909, 910, etc.

I'm a Titleist driver nut, and will definitely be a buyer. The key for me has been finding the right shaft ,so I love the changability features.

too bad the average golfer can't get a driver for free. When we see our favorite golfers playing with a certain brand driver or irons that's a lot influence on what we buy.

Wow I waited and waited and bought a competitor because I needed a new driver but by the looks of this I may have to trade in new one.

I did not see my name on the box. When will you be sending me mine?

When can I pick one up for myself?

Extremely excited. I just went to a local golf shop in Las Vegas and got fit for the R11S, but I walked in looking for a 910D3. I currently play 735CMs with Vokey wedges and a Titlesit Hybrid all in X100 DGs. I wanted to go Titlesit driver and fairway woods as well, but they did really good on fitting me for an R11s. With that said I am having a tough time finding a Titleist Rep in my area that will take the time I need to find the right driver specs for my swing. I play X-Stf with a 109mph swing speed. I dont want to buy anything stock off of the shelf, but I also dont want to guess on my specs, but not being on tour makes it difficult for someone like me to find a fitter to really care about my specs in the Titlesit family.

I'm only sad because now my F/H head covers will no longer be current. Wondering what the advantage of the flat weight will be over the bezel post weight? Shift weight more to heel?
And will have to wait on what will be released in the D2 line. Can only hope the 12 degree comes out with the rest of the line.

...always interesting to see a new equipment release from one of the very top companies, but cut to the chase, what is the difference in the 'real world'(the amateur world--the one where you get paid),
What does this driver do for me?(I'm a '12' for example)? Why do I need it?...more than the last Titleist model? ...why are we supposed to give you $500 for it?

Rory McIlroy isn't playing at Congressional this weekend, but don't worry I only live about 20 minutes from the course so I can pick it up for him and make sure it gets to where he is...

Nice look, Titleist. Will be looking forward to the pros' comments on the 913s. Especially like the new head covers.

If this model is half as good as the 910 it will still
Set the bar high enough to require a stepstool for all other
Manufactures to make the much needed attempt at futility.....
A hosel configuration that others have tried to duplicate yet have failed miserably.
Titleist.......case closed!!

Absolutely beautiful club head. A little more red to spice up the cover looks great also. I keep looking for the one with my name on it, must be in the next box.

Perfect! It's a very balanced look between technology and tradition. Cannot wait to get these out on the course.
