Steven Bowditch Leads 4-Win Week for Titleist Golf Ball Players

It was a breakthrough weekend for Titleist golf ball loyalist Steven Bowditch, who trusted his Pro V1x golf ball to win the Valero Texas Open and claim his first career PGA Tour title. Bowditch posted an 8-under, 280 victory total, one shot clear of fellow Pro V1x loyalists Will MacKenzie and Daniel Summerhays.
Bowditch's victory highlighted a 4-win week for Titleist golf ball players, as the Aussie was joined in this week's winners’ circle by fellow Pro V1x loyalists Kris Blanks (Web.com Tour), Michio Matsumura (ONEAsia Tour) and Armando Favela (PGA Tour Latinoamerica).
Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x players have now won 36 tournaments on the worldwide professional tours in 2014, more than five times the nearest competitor with 7 and more than all other competitors combined.
To date, 4,830 players have trusted a Titleist golf ball across the worldwide professional tours in 2014, more than six times the nearest competitor with 743 and more than all other competitors combined.

PGA TOUR: Valero Texas Open
Titleist was the top golf ball choice at the Valero Texas Open with 90 players in the field of 144 trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than five times the nearest competitor with 16.
Under windy conditions on Sunday, Steven Bowditch, held off a number of final-round challenges including a pair by Will MacKenzie and Daniel Summerhays. The performance marked the third top-10 finish for MacKenzie in his last four starts. The T2 finish also matched a career-best for Summerhays.
“After I played well on Thursday, with my ballstriking, " Bowditch said after the win, "I thought, ‘Hang on a moment, I might be able to get in contention this week with the way I was hitting the ball.’"
The top threesome was joined on the leaderboard by Titleist Brand Ambassadors Andrew Loupe (T4), Zach Johnson (T6) and Jordan Spieth (10th), as well as Titleist golf ball loyalist Brendon Todd (T9), as 7 of the top 10 relied upon a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball for their success.
Bowditch is the third Titleist golf ball loyalist to win his first PGA TOUR event this season, joining Titleist Brand Ambassadors Jimmy Walker (Frys.com Open) and Chesson Hadley (Puerto Rico Open). He won twice previously on the Web.com Tour (2010, 2005).
Wth the timely victory, Bowditch also punched his ticket to Augusta, earning his first invitation to the Masters.
Loupe’s T4 was the first top-10 finish of his brief PGA TOUR career of nine starts.
Brendon Todd posted the day’s low round, a 4-under-par 68 en route to his T6. Todd and Jimmy Walker (69) were the only two players to shoot in the 60’s on Sunday. Todd and Walker tied for first with Loupe in Birdies for the week with 19.

WEB.COM TOUR: Chitimacha Louisiana Open
Titleist was the top golf ball choice at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open with 94 players in the field of 144 trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, nearly six times the nearest competitor with 16.
While the winner was in doubt as Kris Blanks and Titleist Brand Ambassador Brett Stegmaier approached the first playoff hole at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open, the winning golf ball was not – it would be a Titleist Pro V1x.
Blanks, who won the sudden death playoff with a birdie on the third extra hole, stormed up the leaderboard by firing a final round 9-under par, 62 - the best of the day by five shots. Blanks had to wait more than three hours to see if his clubhouse lead would stand.
He was matched by Stegmaier (Pro V1x, 913D3 driver, 913F fairway metal, 712U 3-iron, CB irons, Vokey Design SM5 wedges, Scotty Cameron Futura X putter), who closed with a 3-under 68 en route to a 14-under, 270 total.

ONEASIA TOUR: Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia PGA Championship
Titleist was the top golf ball choice at the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia PGA Championship with 101 players in the field of 155 trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball,more than three times the nearest competitor with 31.
Titleist Brand Ambassador Michio Matsumura posted four consecutive rounds in the 60’s (65-67-67-68) to finish with a 21-under par 267 victory total in the co-sanctioned OneAsia and Japan Golf Tour event.
Matsumura edged fellow Pro V1x golf ball loyalists Rhein Gibson and Juvic Pagunsan, who shared second place, as four of the top five finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

PGA TOUR LATINOAMERICA: Stella Artois Open
The 27-year-old Armando Favela (Pro V1x) took advantage of the 510-yard uphill par-5 18th, birdieing the final hole at Fuego Maya GC at La Reunión Golf Resort to win the inaugural Guatemalan event by one shot.
Favela closed on Sunday with a 1-under 71, good for a 14-under 274 winning total in the LatinoAmerica Tour’s first event ever contested in Central America.
With the win, Armando Favela moves to No. 2 on the Tour's Order of Merit.
