Posted: June 10, 2014
The first U.S. Open was played in 1895 at Newport Country Club in Newport, Rhode Island and in addition to a legacy of challenging course setups that place a premium on Par, another special constant is that the event is open to any amateur with an up-to-date USGA handicap index of 1.4 or lower… all they need to do is qualify.
And while qualifying isn’t an easy task, the opportunity to tee it up for a chance to face one of the toughest tests of golf and compete side-by-side with the world’s best players is truly unique.
Watch the video above as Titleist Brand Ambassadors Adam Scott, Jimmy Walker, Jason Dufner and Webb Simpson along with Titleist golf ball loyalists Bubba Watson and Rickie Fowler (among others) share their thoughts about qualifying for the U.S. Open.
