Inside the Ropes with the #1 Ball in Golf at the Open Championship
Posted: July 18, 2014
The action is underway at Royal Liverpool and The Open Championship is already off to an exciting start. With early round conditions proving to be a bit tamer than expected, players are looking to post some low numbers and start their charge to the top of the iconic yellow leaderboard.
And as the world’s best players look to take home the Claret Jug, Titleist is the overwhelming golf ball of choice with 85 players in the field trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success. That’s more than 4 times the nearest competitor with 21 and more than all competitors combined.
Titleist was also the top choice among players in the sand, lob and approach wedge (151) and putter (59) categories.
Team Titleist was on the grounds early in the week to capture some of the sights as the major buzz was building around Hoylake. Check out the slideshow above for a tour inside the ropes and visit the Team Titleist discussions for even more exclusive photos.
Fast Fact: This is the 12th time the Open Championship has been contested at Royal Liverpool with the first being in 1897.
