It was a bogey-free week for Titleist Pro V1 loyalist Bernhard Langer as he rallied to win the Dick's Sporting Goods Open for his fifth Champions Tour victory of the year, and the third in his last five starts.
Langer completed the 54-hole tournament without carding a single bogey, thanks to some exceptional ball striking. Solid ball striking along with a steady dose of hitting greens in regulation have been key ingredients in Langer's recipe for success this year.
Helping him along the way to his Champions Tour leading GIR Percentage (79.63%) and Tour leading scoring average (67.90) has been the drop and stop control of his Pro V1 golf ball.
Having complete trust in golf ball performance is essential to scoring on the course and this is a great lesson for any golfer of any age, regardless of skill level.
WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE WORLDWIDE PROFESSIONAL TOURS
On the Web.com tour, Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Martin Piller carded a final round 8-under-par 63 to claim victory at the News-Sentinel Open. The Dallas, Texas native shot a four round total of 22-under-par 262 and the win marks his third career Web.com tour title.
To round out the week's action, Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Steven Jeffress earned a four-shot win at the Fiji International on the OneAsia Tour. Jeffress used the exceptional control and aerodynamics of the Pro V1x to manage the difficult, windy conditions en route to a 10-under-par total of 278.
TEAM TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS
With another three wins this week, Titleist’s year-to-date victory count advances to 110. That's more than four times the nearest competitor with 27 and more than all competitors combined.
In total, 16,009 players have teed up Titleist golf balls in competition on the 2014 worldwide professional tours, more than six times the nearest competitor with 2,591 and more than all competitors combined.
THE TITLEIST LEADERBOARD | WEEK ENDING August 17, 2014
Congratulations to those loyalists who won using the number one ball in golf. No wonder those numbers are overwhelmingly Titleist. Only ball in my bag, Prov1.
