A Major Victory for Kang at Olympia Fields

New Pro V1x golf ball loyalist Danielle Kang birdied the final hole to win the KPMG Women's PGA Championship by one shot over defending champion and fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Brooke Henderson (New Pro V1).

It marked the first career LPGA Tour title and first career major championship for the 24-year old.

It was an emotional triumph for Kang, who was guided by her late father to the US Women's Amateur Championship in 2011.

"When I was playing in the US Women's Amateur, my dad was right next to me," said Kang. "I had that utter confidence that no one could get in my way, and all week I felt like that. I don't know if he was next to me [this week]. I'm pretty sure he was."

Kang fired four consecutive rounds in the 60’s, including a closing 4-under-par 68 en route to a 13-under-par 271 victory total.

Congratulations, Danielle!
