An Historic Win For Zecheng Dou in Kansas

Titleist golf ball loyalist Zecheng Dou (Pro V1x) made history on Sunday, becoming the first Chinese player to win on the Web.com Tour as he captured the Digital Ally Open by three shots.

“It’s a big honor, representing China and getting to play with the best and learning from them and competing,” Dou said. “It feels amazing right now. I never thought I could win this year and then it just happened and I’ll just take it.”

Playing the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Overland Park, Kansas, the 20-year-old fired a 10-under-par 61 on Saturday, followed by a closing 5-under-par 66 en route to a 25-under-par 259 victory total.

Nicknamed “Marty” on Tour, Dou topped a leaderboard in which each of the top seven finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

Dou’s maiden win vaults him to No. 15 on the Web.com Tour earnings list, assuring him a PGA Tour card for next season.

Congratulations, Zecheng!

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS

Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball choice at the Digital Ally Open with 113 players trusting a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success. That’s more than 6 times the nearest competitor with 18 and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist was also the field favorite in irons, with 45 sets in play. Vokey Design Wedges also topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (203) category and Scotty Cameron putters were the top choice among players with 56 putters in play.

Dou’s win marks the 14th for Titleist golf ball players this season on the Web.com Tour, nearly five times the nearest competitor with 3.
