Pro V1x loyalist Luke Donald's march to victory last weekend at the PGA Tour finale at Walt Disney World can't be considered a fairy tale performance.

He's really that good. (And working hard to get better.)

Donald, the No. 1-ranked player in the world, rolled his Pro V1x golf ball in for six consecutive birdies on the back nine Sunday to shoot 8-under 64 and win the Children's Miracle Network Classic by two shots.

With the win, Luke also vaulted to No. 1 on the final PGA Tour money list, an almost expected outcome when you consider his consistency and proficiency around putting surfaces.

"Every year I look at the stats and figure out what I need to do to improve," Luke says.

Here's some proof:

• Luke led the Tour with a 68.86 adjusted scoring average, and was also tops in Final Round Scoring Average (68.06).

• He was No. 1 in the new Stroke Gained statistic (.844), which tracks a player's putting performance relative to his  competitors and ultimately shows how many strokes are gained or lost due to putting for a particular round and over the entire season.

• Luke was first in Approaches from 100-125 yards, averaging 16 feet, 4 inches from the hole.

• When faced with 5-10 footers, he rolled his Pro V1x into the hole a Tour-best 65.81 percent of the time.

• Luke also led in Three-Putt Avoidance at 1.24 percent.

• He averaged 2.97 on par-3s, 3.98 on par-4s and 4.55 on par-5s for the season.

• Luke was No. 2 in Proximity to the Hole from Sand, averaging 7 feet, 6 inches.

• He was also second in Scrambling from the Rough at 66.39 percent.

"I'm very, very excited about next year and even this off-season about trying to improve," Luke said after his round Sunday. "You know, there are certain parts of my game that definitely need some improvement. You know, hopefully that will lead to even more wins and more tournament victories."
