For the final west coast stop on the PGA Tour this winter, Team Titleist has moved down California Interstate 5 from the Monterey Peninsula to Los Angeles for the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club.

In a town where the stars normally shine bright on the silver screen, this week Titleist Brand Ambassador Bill Haas will defend his 2012 Northern Trust victory while other players like Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott and John Merrick compete for the top spot on the leaderboard.

The majority of players at Riviera know performance is the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x. Titleist is the overwhelming top choice in golf balls at the Northern Trust Open with 92 of the players in the field of 144 relying upon a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, nearly five times the nearest competitor with 19, and more than all competitors combined.

Scott is one of 63 who will be relying upon a new 2013 Pro V1 (15) or Pro V1x (48) golf ball this week.

Titleist was also the favorite in the sand, lob and approach wedge (135) and putter (53) categories.

Here at Titleist, we believe performance is for every player, every round, every shot.

More than 45,000 golfers around the world participated in the R&D testing process for the new 2013 Pro V1 and Pro V1x, each golfer receiving prototype golf balls and having the opportunity to report their feedback through Team Titleist.

So we hit the road and met up with some Team Titleist members in California, Florida and Virginia to capture some of their initial reactions as they got to take the new golf balls out for a test drive.

A few TT members even made the final cut for the television vignette which you can watch here.

PGA Professional Barry Evans (Berry Hills Country Club, Charleston, WV) found the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x to be another step forward for the #1 ball in golf.

“It's hard to improve on something that is the best on the market. Knowing Titleist, they've tweaked it to make it that much better.”

Duncan found the improved performance of his new Pro V1 into greens to be a confidence builder: “It allows me to be a little bit more aggressive and trust my golf swing a little bit more.”

Dan B. was impressed by the feel and control of his new Pro V1 on his scoring shots: "It will just allow me to be a better all around player. Because it's something I can trust."

Brian particularly enjoyed the improved durability of his new Pro V1x: “The cover is extremely durable. I hit wedge shots, and hit spinners, and had the golf ball hold up 18 holes. That's fantastic.”
